Oil pulling has become the newest self-help remedy in the holistic approach to better health.

What is Oil Pulling?

Is a holistic approach to better oral health established thousands of years ago. The basic premise is by swishing around oil in your mouth for 20 minutes a day you’re ridding your body of toxins therefore improving your over all health.

How to Oil Pull

Make sure to oil pull first thing in the morning right after you get out of bed before you brush your teeth or drink.

  1. Swish 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and in between your teeth for 10-20 minutes, do not swallow
  2. Spit out the oil in the trash
  3. Rinse with water and sea salt
  4. Brush as normal.

Does it work?

As of now there are no scientific benefits to oil pulling. According to the American Dental Association, they cannot comment on the effectiveness of oil pulling because additional research is needed.  The best way to keep your dental health in check is to floss daily, brush twice a day and alert your dental professional any time there is a change.
